Harry Messersmith
PresidentHarry Messersmith Jr. is the President & Managing Director of NutriData, a leading nutrition consulting firm dedicated to providing comprehensive dietary analysis and nutritional labeling services to food manufacturers, restaurants, and health care providers.
With over two decades of experience in the nutrition industry, Messersmith is a seasoned expert in food science, regulatory compliance, and dietary guidelines. Under his leadership, NutriData has become renowned for its accuracy, efficiency, and commitment to helping clients navigate the complex landscape of nutritional labeling requirements.
Messersmith’s vision for NutriData is centered on empowering clients to make informed decisions about their products and menus while ensuring compliance with ever-evolving regulations.
Prior to co-founding NutriData, Messersmith held various roles in the food industry, gaining valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities facing businesses striving to provide transparent and health-conscious food products.
He is passionate about promoting public health through education and transparency and is actively involved in industry associations and initiatives aimed at advancing nutritional standards. Messersmith also worked with and for numerous food manufacturers and food brokers.
He continues to stay at the forefront of the field through ongoing research and professional development. With his experience and dedication, he has positioned NutriData as a trusted partner for companies seeking to enhance the nutritional quality of their products and services while meeting regulatory requirements.
Renu Roy
Senior Technical ManagerRenu joined the NutriData team in 2012, and is currently in her 14th year here as Nutrition Analyst and Lab Manager.
With decades of experience in the field, she spearheads our lab analyses, including creating custom lab testing portfolios for each individual client. Through analyzing microbiological lab results and deep diving into a product’s production process and storage methodology, she also conducts holistic shelf-life studies and reports for frozen, refrigerated, and room temperature products, and can provide recommendations for prolonging shelf life through preservative consults and more.
She holds dual Master Degrees of Science in both Food Technology and Nutritional Science from the University of Arizona, as well as has an organic chemistry background. Raised in India before obtaining her second Masters degree in the United States, she brings a level of globalization and expertise in food culture, food importing, and international products to help serve our global clients.
Her robust skill set includes experience in Food Technology, Statistics, Quality Assurance, Food Science, Cross-functional Team Leadership, and more. Renu’s previous roles include positions at UC Irvine, the University of Arizona, the National Botanical Research Institute, and international food brands.
Amanda Lacher
Senior Technical ManagerAmanda is a senior technical manager, who spearheads R&D and product formulation, client relations, restaurant analysis, and nutritional analysis.
Amanda is a former restaurant owner and graduate of Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration with a minor in Horticulture. She also serves on the board of directors for the California Restaurant Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the California Restaurant Association.
